Notes:

Claude Marion Hennick was born on August 7, 1909. The first time he shows up in the census files is for the year 1910. I found him listed at the age of only five months old, living in Grant Township in Story County, Iowa. By 1930, he was a young man of twenty, driving a taxicab.

Sometime in the late 1930s or early 1940s, Claude met Theresa Marie Larson, who was working in Ames. They fell in love and were married on February 1, 1941, in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Claude worked at various jobs in Ames. At different times he delivered coal, worked at the municipal light plant, and finally was employed by the Hansen Lumber Company in Ames. He remained with them until his retirement in about the year 1975.

I remember Claude as a very kind man. He always seemed to get along with everyone, and he always seemed to have time to talk to me. He also liked toy trains like I did, which placed him in good standing with me. I was always jealous of my cousin's nice train layout in their basement. He also liked to fish, and at one time he owned a boat and motor.

Claude Marion Hennick passed away in Ames, Iowa, on February 27, 1989. He donated his body to medical science at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City.
